Doornpoort, located north-east of Pretoria, is one of its older residential areas bringing with it a classicly laid-back country-styled atmosphere. This is most likely due to its earlier years as a farming community, more so than urban, as well as the fact that it lies at the start of bushveld terrain, heading into the Lowveld. A special feature of Doornpoort is that it is tucked away behind the Magaliesberg Mountain range so it makes for a tranquil and serene environment and it is located amongst the well-established areas of Wonderboom, Montana and Sinoville.

Over recent times Doornpoort has become a sought-after suburb due to its friendly mix of secure and affordable property types and subsequent diversified residents. These include first-time homeowners, families with school-going children, university students and long-time residents.

Most of the new affordable developments are more centrally located, and closer to access roads and important facilities. Doornpoort has access to all the trappings of modern city life with a great selection of essential amenities, entertainment and some leading attractions on its doorstep.

CLIMATE:

Doornpoort is nestled behind the Magaliesberg Mountain range and enjoys the warmest temperatures throughout Pretoria. It is also one of the few areas with a tropical climate and so gives rise to its beautiful gardens and tree-lined streets. Winters are especially warm and seldom brings any frost with it.

MAIN ACCESS ROUTES:

Doornpoort is conveniently located on the north-eastern outskirts of Pretoria's CBD, with easy access to major highways. It is bordered by the N1 highway in the east and the N4 highway in the north. Its main throughfare road is Sefako Makgatho Drive and it is home to the national Wonderboom Airport
