Wonderboom Suid is iconically known for its location of being perched on the Magaliesberg Mountain range's southern foothills with the Wonderboom Nature Reserve set as its backdrop with a beautiful band of greenery visible above the suburb as you drive toward Wonderboom Suid, out of Pretoria's city centre.

The suburb of Wonderboom Suid is particularly reminiscent of old-fashioned Pretoria with similarly old-styled houses, both in design, stand and home sizes as well as really well established gardens and age-old trees lining the street and sidewalks.  But, while many of these are still used for residential purposes there is also a fair number of homes which serve as outlets for small business entities, allowing for quite a varying residential mix.  Typically homing types are mostly houses or apartment blocks. 

Wonderboom Suid is superbly well located to most amenities including schools, shopping malls, hospitals, restaurants, old age facilities and a large number of Pretoria's greatest attractions.  All of these can found spread throughout its greater neighbouring areas, on either side of the Magaliesberg Mountain range.  To the north of the mountain are the suburbs of Annlin, Sinoville, and Montana while dotting the southern slope lies the suburbs forming The Moot area.

With a beautiful view that stretches over most of Pretoria, it is particularly beautiful when the Jakarandas are in full bloom, when one can enjoy the full effect of the purple blanket which so famously covers parts of the city - and Wonderboom Suid - during the month of October.

CLIMATE:

With the mountain at its back door, Wonderboom Suid is particularly well-sheltered against the elements, over and above the fact that it also enjoys a touch of the sub-tropical climate that is particularly prevalent just on the other side of the ridge.  During the summer months the homes, gardens and streets are well shaded, under the large old trees, from the hot summer sun. 

Days warm up from early in the morning and can easily reach 30 degrees Celsius and up.  Rain takes place during summer and fortunately Pretoria is often blessed with mid to late afternoon showers, breaking the heat and leading to warm but comfortable evenings. 

Winters can be quite cold during the early morning hours but generally warm up to be pleasantly comfortable for most of the day.  On the odd occasion, when temperatures become unusually low, there may be frost.

• Via the R101: 15 minutes / 8 kms
• Via the M5 & R101: 16 minutes / 8 kms
• Via M5: 17 minutes / 8 kms

MAJOR ACCESS ROUTES:

The main access road to and from Wonderboom Suid is the M5 which heads northwards over the Magaliesberg Mountain range toward the Pretoria North suburbs, industries and numerous amenities. 

It also travels south leading toward the Pretoria city centre - so easy access to and from Wonderboom Suid.
